Bühler range of advanced sample coolers operate in, high condensate, corrosive and hazardous applications and have ATEX compliant options. Environmental gas analysis such as stack testing, continuous emission monitoring (CEM), vehicle emission testing or LEL warning indication, as well as process applications such as combustion efficiency monitoring, boiler trim, ethylene plants or petro-chemistry, are among the many applications where sample gas needs to be extracted from the gas stream.

For operation in high condensate, corrosive and hazardous applications, with options where ATEX compliance is required.

Long-term, reliable operation of a gas analyser depends largely on the efficiency of its sample gas conditioning system. The achievement of a precise and stable dew point at the analyser inlet is an absolute requirement of an effective conditioning system. If the dew point changes, the basis of measurement changes. Therefore, the performance of the gas cooler must be predictable under the entire range of anticipated ambient conditions.

Bühler provides both thermoelectric (Peltier) and compressor-based gas coolers. The designs differ in overall size as well as in system-dependent and ambient-dependent cooling capacity.

The heart of any cooling system is the cooling block. Bühler gas coolers feature cooling blocks made of aluminum which accommodate highly efficient heat exchangers available in a variety of materials such as stainless steel, glass or PVDF. The temperature of the cooling block is regulated by the Bühler Constant Regulating System featuring a straight and constant temperature value. Maintenance-free models accommodating either one, two, or up to eight gas streams are available.

The temperature of the cooling block is displayed in °C or °F. The dew point is set at 5 °C upon delivery but can be adjusted for any specific application on site. The status of the system is also displayed and feeds a status output relay in fail safe mode. The status alarms at ± 3K around the set dew point value. The output relay can also be used to stop the gas flow to the analyser if the dew point has not reached the required value.

Models are also available for hazardous areas (Zone 1 and 2 ).

Accessories: Coolers may be equipped with either automatic condensate drains or peristaltic pumps for condensate removal. These and other options can be installed upon request.
